Ingredients:Ā

500gĀ mushrooms: Finely slicedĀ
2 tbsp unsalted butterĀ
2 tbsp olive oilĀ
1 onion: Finely choppedĀ
3 garlic cloves: MincedĀ
2 tbsp plain flourĀ
2 cups beef broth/stockĀ
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauceĀ
1 tsp soy sauceĀ
Salt and pepper: To tasteĀ
Optional: Fresh thyme or parsleyĀ
Instructions:Ā
Prepare Mushrooms:
Clean and slice/chop finely.Ā
Cook:Ā
Heat butter and oil over medium-high heat.Ā
Add onions, cook until soft (3-4 mins).Ā
Add garlic, cook until fragrant (1 min).Ā
Add mushrooms, cook until golden brown (8-10 mins).Ā
Make Roux: Sprinkle flour, cook for 1-2 mins.Ā
Add Broth: Pour in broth, stir to avoid lumps.Ā
Add Worcestershire and soy sauce.Ā
Simmer: Simmer 5-10 mins until thickened. Adjust with broth if needed.Ā
Season: Add salt, pepper, and optional herbs.Ā
Serve: Over mashed potatoes, meats, veggies, or biscuits.Ā

Adjust thickness with broth.Ā
